We usually employ up to four trainees at any one time and offer an individualised and flexible training programme comprising of three seats of eight months each within our specialist fields of Commercial Litigation, including Insurance law and Professional Negligence Litigation; Shipping Litigation; and Commercial and Regulatory work. If you show particular ability in any one field we will endeavour to adapt your training period so as to give you the maximum learning opportunity in that seat.
We seek to recruit only that number of trainees to whom we can guarantee quality work and quality training and we therefore gear our recruitment closely to the Firm’s volume and type of work. Trainee solicitors in any particular Group can expect to have involvement with all the major work being handled within that Group. Our trainee solicitors receive a high degree of personal attention during training and at a NQ level. They not only learn and gain invaluable guidance from partners with whom they work, but also, through various in-house seminars and lecture programmes that we run every year, they are able to expand their knowledge of current practice.
Trainee solicitors will, wherever possible, have the opportunity to handle their own cases under supervision and are actively involved in the Firm. We encourage our trainees to become involved in client liaison both in connection with the cases they will be working on and in support of the Firm’s wider business development activities.
